We would like take this time to thank two people who have helped Quinte Mini Con be what it is and exist in our small town of Belleville. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Mary Boyd (right) and Erika Rogers for their help over the last few years with Quinte Mini Con. Mary is the Rental Supervisor for our venue the Quinte Sports & Wellness Centre, and Erika the Assistant for Rental.
In early 2013 when we first approached them about this they naturally had many questions about the type of event, as our area had never had a convention like this before, and it was the first time one had looked to the Quinte Sports & Wellness Centre for a venue. It wasn't long before everything was booked and we were on our way to hosting our first year.
Since then whenever there is a question in regards to what we can and can't do with the spaces we rent for the convention, Mary and Erika are our first choice to get the correct information we need. And if they themselves don't know, they always point us in the right direction of who to ask. If we are stuck and don't know what to do or have been in a bind when it comes to something related to the venue or something with the city, Mary and Erika have been there to help us to the best of their abilities.
It's hard to believe that 2016 marks the fourth year of Quinte Mini Con, which means also that it will be four years of working with these two wonderful women. While they may not be marked as official staff for QMC, everyone has considered them part of the team, for if not for them, we would not have the fantastic venue in which we can host the convention.
Naturally, because of all the time and help they have given us since April of 2013, we wanted to give them recognition for their efforts.
Everyone has their heroes, be it Superman, Spiderman, Thor or Batman. For the staff of Quinte Mini Con, our heroes are Mary and Erika.
